2 of Us is a warm and humorous acoustic duo that enjoys performing gems from well-known duos and classic singer-songwriters and our own original songs.  Listening to a live performance is like hanging out in your favorite jeans and a comfy sweater and having those songs you’d forgotten, but still somehow remember every word of, ceremoniously laid out before you as if they’d never gone away.

You’ll smile, remember and sing along with the four of us.

The members of "2 of Us" are:

Pamela Joyce

Vocals; Guitar; Harmonica; Percussion

Pamela Joyce, the no-holds-barred, soulful singer with Bay Area favorites “FunkSway” and the acoustic 3-piece duo, “2 Of Us”, has been singing on stages from coast to coast for more than 3 decades. Growing up in the northeast, she started singing and playing guitar in folk groups and cover bands in the early 70’s. Since moving to California in 1979, her musical flexibility has enabled her to perform with a variety of bands in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Pamela’s far-reaching vocals offer glimpses of her early musical influences. Taking cues from some of the greatest women of Jazz (Ella), Folk (Joni), Blues (Bonnie), Soul (Aretha) and Rock (Janis), Pamela has developed a style that ranges from sweet ballads to seriously funked-up, house rocking R&B. 

Recording artist Peter Welker says, "Pamela has a wonderful gift with her voice and needs to share it with the world."

Tom Farnham

Vocals; Guitar; Percussion; Occasional Ukulele…

Born and raised in Northern California, Tom began playing the guitar and singing at the age of 7.  By the time he was 16, he was performing with local bands, and since then has continued to hone his craft on stages throughout the western United States.  From his acoustic and vocal-harmony roots to his love of funky R&B, Tom’s versatility has led him to share the stage with a diverse group of artists.

John (Gianni) Lonacker

Bass; Percussion; Humor…

Raised by beavers in Northern California, John started playing the Autoharp when he was 5; piano when he was 6; drums when he was 8; clarinet, cello, tuba, and E-flat alto horn through middle and high school.  He wasn't any good at those instruments, but people encouraged him anyway…  Finally, practicing the Les Ismore philosophy, he chose Bass guitar because it had only four strings. He wasn't tall enough to play upright so he went electric and hasn’t looked back since (an unfortunate injury sustained while learning the fingerboard).

OKAY...  Gianni may be the ultimate punster, but the depth he brings to our sound is serious.  We are indeed fortunate to have him performing with us.

Gary Grubb

Vocals; Guitar; Dobro; Pedal Steel Guitar

Gary Grubb is a talented and versatile guitarist and vocalist with over 40 years of experience. His unique flair for adding new dimensions to the music of those he accompanies makes him a popular collaborator for many local performers.

Gary played guitar professionally for many years in California, Nevada and across the Midwest. In 1985, following a successful five year gig as band leader for Country Rush at Northern California’s largest nightspot, Gary decided to leave the music business to pursue a career in software development and to raise his two children. With the kids off to college, Gary has returned to his first love; music. He performs and does session work with a number of local artists, but he's ours now... Heh, heh, heh...
